2 HVR-1600s and 3 PVR-USB2s

Hello, and thanks for reading my post. Hopefully it will help out others as well. I have a SageTV system running on Dual Core2 Pentium 3.0 Ghz, 2048 DDR2, 1TB Sata HD, Gig ethernet, WinXP Pro SP3. ATI Radeon with HD over HDMI to a HDTV 45" LCD. I have 2 HVR-1600s and 3 PVR-USB2s. I have used the original silver 34 buttom Hauppauge remote without issue, even with all the tuners running together.

Before Hurricane Ike ravaged our home everything worked fine. But After Ike and the home (and failed HD) re-build I have everything working except for my Hauppauge remote. The system acts like it is receiving no remote inputs at all. The Hauppauge software winTV does not even respond.

I have done complete removal of HVR-PCR software using the hauppauge "hwclear" program as well as a careful removal of all previous hauppauge registry entries and software. Then when I reinstall, the 1600s and remote work find, but as soon as I add one UBS2, the remotes stop working.

Hauppauge is of little help because they "did not intend for more than one of their units to be used on the same system at the same time."

I've been working on this for a while trying lots of minor things, but nothing helps. Point me in the right direction?

Thanks!
utsailn.

Have you tried using each tuner as the IR receiver to see if the active IR receiver simply changed to a different tuner than the one you expect?

You can try a registry change to tell it to prefer one tuner type; see this post.

Thumbs up Selecting certain HVR or PVR tuner for IR

Andy!

Thanks, that was JUST what I was hoping, but did not get from hauppauge technical support. Cooincidentally, I did remember something about the order that you install the cards having something to do with which tuner is used for the IR port (since they all have one). I have tried loading the USB2s first then adding the HVRs, and visa versa...

I'll give your suggestion a try when I get home! Do you know the "code" for the HVR1600 from your posting link?

Thanks!
Doug.
