Audio Volume Adjustment
Is there a way to adjust volume for each capture card input? The volume of both my HVR-1800s are about 25% more quite than my PVR-500. So if the volume control of my PVR-500 is at 75%, the HVR-1800 needs to be 100%. I don't like having to adjust volume when switching tuners or recorded shows.
Thanks I am running: SageTV V6.4.8.184 JAVA version: 1.6.0.11 SageMC STV Version: 6.3.8a SageMC.jar Version: 6.3.8 df_sageutil.jar Verison: 2.2 Hauppauge HVR-1800 driver: 09/08/2008 - 1.31.26252.0 Hauppauge PVR-500 driver: 02/06/2007 - 2.0.48.25037 |

I have this issue as well - my OTA tuner is very loud, much louder than my cable boxes which are captured via analog audio to a PVR-150 and two HD-PVRs. There even seems to be a substantial difference between the volume of my two HD-PVRs which are both connected to the exact same type of cable box. I tried adjusting the volume to max on the cable boxes but that didn't seem to help.
I would also be interested in knowing the solution, if there is one.

I also have this issues and there have been many posts to adjust AC3filter but this would only help when playing from the server itself.
Please Sage: Add sometime of even manual volume gain for each tuner. |

Yep all my tuners have different volumes - with one being significantly quieter then the rest (i think the hd-pvr). would be great to have a gain control for each tuner!

Sorry for digging this up, but I too have an issue with my HDHR and my 1600 tuner volumes. The 1600 is much louder than the HDHR. Has anyone found a solution?

I too have battled with the volume variances between my tuners.
The one crazy thing that I see once in a while is the volume changes after skipping a commercial! Sometimes after a commercial the volume goes down, so we turn the TV up higher, then after the next break the volume comes back crazy loud… I don’t notice this too much anymore but occasionally it does and I don’t think there is a good reason for it… I think it’s my PVR500 card doing it too… Since I mostly use my HDHR now it’s less of an issue. I think the volume overall is quirky. It seems to be such a balancing act between the extender and the TV volumes to get the sound just right. The increments seem excessive. It’s hard to have a very low volume without it basically being muted. |

I'd love for Sage to have an option to control volume of sources. And to also equalize the volume of all sources.
The volume issues I have is that the volume is far too low. All my TV's must have their volume all the way up. |

I've used these:
http://www.smarthome.com/7848T/TV-Vo...or-VR-1/p.aspx On my composite (analog) inputs with good results. They pass 5.1 fine. One qurk though, IF power is lost with the input off the devices will 'mute'. Easy to fix, just switch to BYPASS, unplug power, reply input and then reapply power and switch to ON. Best to plug the AC adaptor into a UPS and forget it. I wish they made one for Toslink! I haven't tried this one: http://www.tvsoundregulator.com/?gcl...FZJM5Qod5zOfAg Last edited by Paul H; 07-07-2009 at 09:01 AM. |
