MVP & Aspect Ratio
I have a new HD computer running SageTV & an older MediaMVP (Standard-def) that I use as an extender. Playback works fine, but I'm wondering if there is a way to handle this situation:
Some stations broadcast an HDTV signal but air certain shows in standard-def (black bars on each side). When I watch such a video on the MVP, it puts black bars on the top & bottom to fit the HD image on the screen. That leaves me with black bars on the top AND the bottom, making my little TV screen seem very small. Has anyone encountered that situation and improved on it?
