SageTV hangs on Channel Switching (Live TV)

Lets see if I can get all the important information here:

Athlon X2 3800+ in MSI Neo4 SLI MB, 8800GT, 2GB mem, Hauppauge HVR-1600 with 45 button remote, Analog Cable.

Sage seemed to be the only HTPC software that would easily work with Hauppauge and its remote.

Setup: Input my zip code (06450, CT) and was dismayed to find that Cox was not on the list, but Willeyville (somewhere in PA!) was. Dish and Direct were only other choices so I had the tuner scanned for all channels. I began to sort through the channels and found that I could do exactly 11 channel changes and then it would hang. Hang as defined that preview froze and I could not do anything else. Went through this twice before I just pressed on through setup to finish the install. Note that the hang could only be solved by Cntrl-Alt-Del and stopping the app.

Viewing live TV will hang at some point, seems inevitable. I updated the MB Bios, MB Drivers and the hang changed from a freeze to the same channel still working but unable to change, but with the overlay locked on top. Overlay shows current channel. This happens on using the up/down button on the remote. I have used the numeric input on the remote, but not enough to know whether that will also cause a lock. Drivers for the 1600 are the latest from hauppauge website.

I cannot update the video card drivers (I'm one release behind) because that particular driver causes a page fault.

So....I can use Sage if I don't switch channels too much, but I am looking for ideas. SageTV version is 6.48.184, Windows XP SP2.

Looking for some ideas....
