No Signal on Encrypted channels

Hi there!

I have major problems with the new Beta. 6.5.5.
I get no signal on encrypted channels (DVB-T) in Sweden, Boxer.
I have 2 FireDTV receivers.
I didn't have any problems with this on the 6.4.8 but when I updated to 6.5.3 and today 6.5.5 I get no signal on all encrypted channels (Viaccess).
I haven't change anything else, I tried to revert to 6.4.8 but I still have this problem.
Is there someone that have the same problem and a solution?

/Patrik

Same here. Support has confirmed to me that CAM support is broken in 6.5.5. I've sent the logs to them. I'm using a FloppyDTV too.

Same here. Also sent a support case, and got reply that they are aware of it and will fix it in latest release.

To avoid downgrading you can use the DShowCapture.dll (v2.1.1.6) from 6.5.4beta (may be same version earlier releases too, not sure). Located in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\ on your server installation. Have attached it to this post.

At least that worked for me. And as my signature shows I've got 2x FloppyDTV C/CI (DVB-C) tuners.

Thank you guys!
I will test this tonight...
If this works it will save me a lot of time (re-installation) of the system.

I tried this and it didn't work. I can see some channels on one MUX but I can't change mux. then I get no signal.
I think it is time for a re-installation of sagetv.

To bad. It was enough for my setup. Might be something with DVB-T vs DVB-C. Not sure. Good luck

It's a good habit to save the entire SageTV directory before you upgrade. That's what I did; you can put the 6.5.4 directory into place and everything is ok again.

If I remember well, the betas allow a downgrade. So I think you can install 6.5.4 over 6.5.5.

They're called betas for a reason

Something was really wrong with the system. My receivers didn't work with any program. I tried DVBV and MyTheatre. I couldn't find any channels at all.
So after I've spent 4 hrs testing I decided to reinstall Windows. Now everything works fine. I'm running 6.4.8 for now.

If I decide to upgrade in the future I will copy the old sagetv-catalog

Ok, continuing having problems.
So far I've re'installed XP MCE, updated everything at M$, installed the latest drive for my GFX (ATI HD 4670) and installed sagetv. First I installed 6.4.8 to get it working and it did at least until I started to use XMLTV-importer, edit settings they way I wanted them. The no signal re-appeared.
After that I decided to install 6.5.5 with DShowCapture file from 6.5.3. and that what I'm having right now. The system is very unstalbe. First I couldn't use VMR9 (It is working on the system, I've checked with DXVA Checker), if I tried sage just died.
Right now I got it working as long as I don't toggle full screen to much.
When I start up, I start up in full screen, entering live-TV. If I'm on a FTA-channel I get sound but no video and if I'm on an encrytped channel I get no signal. I toggle full screen to go away from full screen and go to a FTA-channel I get video on audio. Then i can toggle back to full screen and get video and audio working.
I have turned on debugging. I will post them here and send a bug report to sage as well.

Thumbs down

Just installed 6.5.6, which is supposed to fix the issue with encrypted channels, but the problem remains: no signal on encrypted channels.

Going back to 6.4.8 fixes it.

Please fix this, PLEASE....

Sorry to hear there still is problems. Not that it will help, but though I'd just say that my problem is solved with 6.5.6. I do not get the 'no signal' I got with 6.5.5. Where I had to downgrade DShowCapture.dll to v2.1.1.6 from 6.5.4. Now in 6.5.6 it is at v2.1.1.8, and works.

Guess there must be variations of this problem. To get better progress, would recommend you report it as a bug to SageTV.

I got it working now with downgrading the DShowCapture to 6.4.8.
I'm bit afraid of installing 6.5.6 since I spent a lot of time debugging my system.
I think I will wait a couple of days before I install 6.5.6.
I like to have everything working with my 2xFireDTV with my extender and placeshifter.
I will move gently in order to be able to reverse.

I installed 6.5.6 again, but the encrypted channels only work if I copy the DShowCapture.dll file from v6.4.8 to the SageTV directory.

So the problem is related to this dll. Not ready for prime time yet...

I saw the same issue. But a rescan of the channels fixed that. Running 6.5.6 with HDHR and HD-PVR.

The Encrypted channel bug on a FireDTV tuner was fixed in 6.5.6 RC,
