6.5.5 EPG Lineup Enhancement

I missed this feature the first time I read the SageTV 6.5.5 notes:
Quote:
Program Guide data options for a tuner: choosing to use an existing lineup now offers the option to simply use the lineup as done before, or to copy the lineup to a separately configurable lineup.
How does this work? If I'm reading this correctly I think this means I can select my local Cable for my lineup on one tuner (eg Time Warner Cable Digital Kansas City) say for my HDHR. And then on my HD-PVR I can "copy" that same cable provider (Time Warner Cable Digital Kansas City) and then customize that lineup with different channels from what my HDHR was using?

If that's right then this will definitely make the EPG lineup setup process easier.

Yes, it can be used to make a seprately configurable lineup, as it says. Previously, this was only offered as an option after going through the process of choosing a provider & then it would ask if you wanted to make a copy if the input type was different. Now, it also offers to make a copy when you choose to use an existing lineup right from the start. It is just an easier/quicker way to get to the lineup copy option.

Excellent improvement! It may seem like a small thing, but it's just one more thing that helps users new to SageTV & even long-time SageTV users. Nice "polish" type of improvement.

Just to clarify - is this new copied lineup static as of the day of the install or will it add new channels as they are found?

The copied lineup is static. If new channels get added to the original lineup, then just reconfigure the lineup on the other tuner & choose to copy it again. If you don't clear all the remapped channels before the copy starts, it should remember which channels were enabled before the recopy.
