SageTV Transcoder
I am using SageTV 6.4 and using SageTV to convert my MPEG2 movies to MPEG4.
When I select a group (folder) of movies to convert to MPEG4, is SageTV process smart enough to not reconvert already converted movies? I am asking because I converted 20 movies in a folder and later I told it to covert all movies again when I had new movies in the folder and it seems to be processing all of them no matter if they are MPEG2 or MPEG4. Am I doing something wrong? |

I've noticed the same thing. Sage converts everything even if it is already in the target format.

Is there a way to tell SageTV to covert 2 movies at a time? I have a 2 CPUs and right now, it only converts one at a time.

No, but the new transcoder in the beta is multithreaded, so it can take advantage of dual and quad core CPUs. Search the forum, but there's a setting that you can change in the properties file to permit multi-core transcoding. It won't do multiple shows but it should do each one that much faster.

How can we tell SageTV to skip already converted files and NOT try to convert them again?

You can't.

Is this a BUG? Why try to convert already converted files?
