HD200 and SageMC
Downloaded latest full install of SageMC. From the HD200, I selected that xml file and when it switches it is black with the text as white, very blocky and I cannot tell what is selected.
Never run in client mode before. This is all clean new installs.

Try rebooting your server if you haven't already (or at least restart the SageTV service). Also make sure you are running Java 1.6 and the latest version of SageTV (v6.4 or higher).

That's fine (as long as you are talking about Java).

Sage V6.5.3.194
Java 1.6.0_11 rebooted with no impact, service restarted with no impact.

Fire up the SageTV UI on your server and load SageMC. Does it work there? If not, enable debug logging (see tips and tricks sticky for link to instructions) and post the log file here.

It does NOT work in regular mode either.
I enabled the debug logging and went through selecting the Sagemc, closed it down, but no log file. I did double check to make sure two properties items were changed as required. I'm feeling like an idiot. I ran SageMC ever since it first came out from mlbdude and have had a year break from Sage, now I'm clueless again!!!

I re-unzipped the SageMC files again and noticed an error with some Windows Vista COM service that prematurely closed the unzipping.
So I tried using the "7-zip" unzipping program instead and everything seemed to unzip. Now SAGEMC works on the Server computer, but still not on the client.

I have the same problem except that SageMC worked fine on the server from the start.
I un-zipped the latest 'a' version this morning but ran out of time to check the results. running the latest JVM and Sage beta Any additional ideas? Thanks, Ken |

I had the same problem. I'm not sure what the cause is, but to fix it I had to copy a extender properties file from one of my old MVPs to the new HD200. Looks fine now.

Ouch, sounds like two steps back for one forward ;> Where are the extender property files? Thanks, Ken |

In the clients directory, should be in the format {mac address}.properties.

You should not have to copy any properties files. You should just have to load SageMC_169.xml from within SageTV (Setup >> Detailed Settings >> Advanced) on your extender. If it is working on the server then it should work on the extender as well.

I had this problem also. I use the CenterSage theme with the CenterSage screen layout files. This worked fine on the server and my HD100. However, when I loaded the HD200, it was black with blocky white letters in a circle layout. There was also no navigation bar. However, I was able to blindly navigate to the Settings screen and get to SageMC Themes where I blindly selected CenterSageWide as my theme. The CenterSage theme appeared with clear graphic and lettering, but still with a circle layout. I had to re-apply the CenterSage screen menu layout file from within the HD200 to get everything back to normal.
Since I had the HD200 and my server simulaneously connected to my projector, I could switch between inputs to verify that everything worked fine on the server even when it way severly messed up on the HD200. |
