Closed Captioning

I have a pvr150 and would like closed captioning. I use direct tv.
Here is a snip from another thread and cannot figure out how to change the sage properties.

"Once that is done, then you can follow the manual's info regarding getting the CC to show up. Turn the cc_option_enabled=true in sage.properties and sageclient.properties to get the CC option in Sage. You also need to run VMR9 (or overlay with overlay color keying disabled) and an DVD-capable decoder like Purevideo, PowerDVD or WinDVD"

Can anyone shed any light on how I get closed captioning?

Thanks,
Kyle Denise

With a PVR-150 and the settings you posted you could get CC from analog cable, but it is not possible (That I know of) from a Direct TV receiver.

Turn CC on in the receiver, then connect a HD-PVR and the CC will be saved as video.

OK, That appears to be a analog receiver without any HD.

So back to your first step, Open Sageproperty file in notepad (all file types) with sage not running, and add or edit "cc_option_enabled=true".

Then while video is playing in Sage right click and the menu should have "CC off", select it for "on".

I do not have a cc_option_enabled entry in sage properties.
Only in Sage Client and I've changed this one to true.
Appreciate your help.
Do you have more suggestions?

During playback do you get the menu where you select CC on or off?

Is playback on the Client?

Is Sageproperty and Sageclientproperty both on the same computer?

If a property file entry is not there, just added it.

During playback I get the CC on or off. Actually is says cc1 and cc2. Tried them both.

What do you mean is playback on the client?

Sageproperty and Sageclientproperty are on the same computer.

The sage property file is there, but the cc option is not.
Can I just type in the cc option?

Sorry to be such a idiot with this.
Thanks.

Thanks for all your help.
I've got it now. It was the dvd decoder. I had to install a better one.
