STV HD Theater - Can't get Dolby Digital Output

So I just got my STV HD Theater and ripped a DVD using DVD Shrink with no compression and full disc rip onto my hard drive. The movie playback seems to be fine, the menus work and I get audio but I can't get it to playback in surround sound. I am using HDMI output to a Sony ES surround sound receiver.

I may be a little sparse on the info here but let me know if you need anything else and I'll try and oblige

On the HD200 go to Settings->Audio Output and then select Digital Bistream. That'll fix your problem.

Thanks, that did the trick.

It seems I jumped the gun on the playback issue though. Now when I try and playback the movie it gets to the THX logo and plays everything fine but feezes once this is over on a black sreen. I can get back to the menu but can't select a chapter or it freezes on the chapter selection view... still able to get back to the menu by pressing the menu button. Not sure what to do from here.
