blu-ray player

Hey guys,
I'm looking to get a standalone blu-ray player for my TV, however I was wondering how a PC blu-ray drive would perform with an HD100 or Sage Client setup...can you guys chime in, I want to catch some black friday deals. Thanks

The simple answer is, "it won't".

Sage doesn't support Blu-ray, nothing supports Blu-ray through DirectShow. Blu-ray on a PC requires the use of PowerDVD Ultra, TotalMedia Theater or WinDVD 8. It is possible to rip BDs, but you'll have to transcode the audio for use on the extender, and quite possibly for Sage as well.

Short version:
Make sure you have current (version 8) of powerDVD if that is the software supplied with the PC Blueray player.

Long Version:
One other thing to keep in mind. I bought a PC-bluray player. It worked great and came with PowerDVD 7. I use the PowerDVD codecs for SageTV as well so this was a nice little codec source. However, when I tried to watch Indiana Jones I was having issue with getting sound to function properly. After searching online I found out that it used another format of audio(or something more technical then I recall from memory) that was not supported in PDVD7. I had to upgrade to PDVD8 with the attached costs. I installed PDVD8 and it did solve my problem. Then sage wouldn't play my HDPVR files correctly. After a bunch of fiddiling I had to reinstall PowerDVD7 and use its codecs. So i have both 7 and 8 installed. 7 for sage - 8 for bluray.
