Help with multiple r5000s

Hi All:

I just got my 1st 2 R5000 modded VIP211s back from nextcom.

No matter how I change the setup in Sage, it will only use 1 of them !!

I have confirmed that they are both working (tried each one individually)

But when I have both connected & start a recording on 1 & then try to watch another channel, Sage acts as if there is only 1 tuner.

I have triple checked the sage.properties file & sage allowed me to set both up as seperate tuners.

What the heck am I missing here.

Any help will be deeply appreciated !!

I'm currently running the 3.e Multi version of the R5000-HD software & it sees both units & gets the ping from Sage.

I even installed the latest beta os Sage & totally redid my setup.

Help!!

-Bruce

PS. I was planning on getting all 4 of my VIP211s modded, but, If I can't even get 2 working.....

I've attached my sage.properties..

Just to confirm, you do have 2 instances of the R5000 program running and have configured one to the 6968 port and the other to 6969 and both say their getting a ping from sage?

Do'h...

I do now & it's working!!
(no mention of needing multiple instances in Nextcom's Sage setup instructions & since the 1 instance I did have running showed both units, I didn't even think about opening a 2nd instance!)

Now I just need to get my other 2 back & running & I'll be all set !!

Any other settings, tricks & or tips I need to know about for these ??

Thank You Pilotguy7ca

Well, Apparently I spoke to soon...

It appears that it will still only use 1 R5000. If the systems trys to record on both, 1 appears as a black screen & nothing will make it show up.

If I look at the server only 1 instance shows to be recording (ie Icon is red) the other will just say "waiting for stream"

This has been very frustrating & the WAF is totally gone now.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated !!!

UPDATE: it appears that 1 of the 2 R5000's is defective! It will look ok in the R5000 software until Sage trys to record a stream from it, then it gives a "Program Not Found" Error.

I'm waiting to hear back from the R5000 folks now...
