How do USB-UIRT zones work?

Have had a usb-uirt in my dual tuner setup for some time. Just been using the single emitter since the sat receivers are on different remote codes. This has been working well, except that when recording two programs at once it obviously can only change one receiver at a time so the second receiver always takes an extra 2-3 seconds for the channel to get changed.

Got my new HD setup all installed and running and the HD-PVR is expected to arrive sometime tomorrow. So now I'm going to have three STBs - each on different IR codes - and assuming the HD-PVR performs well I'll probably add another one after Christmas. I've also got two more PVR-150s sitting beside the server screaming to be installed.

My question, if I were to install the two extra emitters on the usb-uirt would all three blast (different remote codes) at the same time (when needed) or is it still going to change the channel one receiver at a time? I guess I'm just wondering if there's any benefit to be had by picking up the extra emitters for the usb-uirt?

No, it will still not be able to transmit them at the same time. The one benefit is being able to send IR to multiple STBs that all use the same remote codes. When you have STBs that use different codes it really becomes a waste of money and unneeded wires.

Slugger, although you cannot transmit instantly on multiple zones using the stick on emitters allows for less error and so you can speed up the whole process. I switched to EventGhost control before really optimizing the SageTV side of it but there is some configuration related to time between IR transmissions and whatnot. Just plugging in the emitters will allow you to speed your process up you should have to do zoning even though I probably would.
