SageTV 6.5.1 does not work on my Vista 64 box

Hi,

The new beta does not seem to work on my Vista 64 machine, version 6.4.8 works great.

Nothing seems to work, the program won't even run, unless I'm doing something wrong?

I've not had problems running SageTV on Vista until this beta, hopefully it will be resolved in the next beta.

Thanks,

David

I run Vista Ultimate X64, and if I use VMR9 rather than EVR it works ok on my setup ... provided I don't try to watch/record DVB-T.

Of course the latter means its functionality is a little restricted for me right now but I don't think it's Vista X64 which is the problem.

Hi,

I'm also running Vista Ultimate 64, currently I only use DVB cards, a combination of DVB-T and DVB-S cards so I think I'll have to wait for the next beta before I can use version 6.5.+.

Thanks for the info,

David

I'm running Sage TV client on Vista 64 Business edition. Both EVR and VMR9 work fine. EVR needs the regserv fix.

I upgraded my Vista server to 6.5.1, and everything went to hell in a handbasket...

First is wiped my configuration, shows up as unconfigured (no tuners present, etc). When I tried to reconfigure one of my DTV receivers, as soon as I tell it I need to use a tuner program, I get 3 Sage C++ errors, and from there it goes down hill...

My XP remote encoder upgraded just fine, so I think it's something to do with Vista on this box..

Remember any time you do an upgrade and if you run SageTV as a service it resets it to run as local system. Make sure to reset the service as the user w/password if you had it setup that way.

My problem was the stupid install directory, I always have it pointed to c:\SageTV, but the install this time around pointed it to the c:\Program Files\SageTV (the default location). I don't ever remember having to change it on an upgrade, but I guess it is always a good idea to be sure, lol.

No issues

I upgraded on top of 6.4.8 with 6.5.1 beta. I am running Vista 64 Ultimate Edition w/2 PVR-500s and 1 PVR-150. No issues, everything is working fine. I would suggest you open a support/bug request.
