Some good news on this front. I called Hauppauge today and told them about the common 5.1 issue I am having with my ExpressVu (Dishnet) receiver. They didnt ask about which version I have, just told me that the fix is a hardware repair and that I would have to RMA the device. I told them because I am in Canada, the round trip for a return can take up to 6 weeks due to customs and asked if they could ship me a new one first if I put my credit card number down.

Initially the tech on the phone stated "no". I asked the same question several different ways, different times (all the time being a polite Canadian) and he offered to pass me to a supervisor -- I told him it wouldn't hurt if I asked. Anyhow, on hold for about 5 minutes and the tech comes back with the good news. They now have a form to fax where they will ship out the replacement, charge your credit card, and return the balance when the RMA arrives. So, got them their signed form and I have a new HD-PVR being shipped out to me some time this week.

Lets me get the new box, ensure it works, but at the same time keep recording without interruption. I am a happy guy (happier when the new unit arrives and works properly of course).
Received my RMA last night (Took 21 days to arrive). They replaced my C1 with an E1. Dolby 5.1 now works but I am experiencing the audio sync issues when recording in 5.1. Seems that the audio goes in and out of sync with the video as you watch a show.

Tried setting delay_to_wait_after_tuning to 4000 but that has no impact (others have reported this as a fix).

Sorry to revive this old thread. I just decided to RMA my C2 HD-PVR. It's really been driving me nuts lately. I have to reset it at least twice a week. I wish I could just leave it. With the older drivers when it was recording AAC audio I had it working for weeks at a time without issue. Now with the newer drivers I can't leave it alone for more than a few days without it conking out on me and needing a reset.

Just wondering if their RMA turnaround is still this bad. I'd hate to have it gone for almost a month. I can't afford for $250 of my money to be locked up while I'm waiting for an advance replacement. That's just crazy.

I think in general they are pretty quick for RMA's. Keep in mind that I am in Canada, so that's why the RMA process takes so long for us up here.

I just sent mine in this past weekend. They should have it today, so I'll report here when I get it back. I surely hope it does not take 21 days!

There's quite a few people that have the HD-PVR with no issues. (except wanting better drivers) Mine is a C1 one of the originals and I haven't seen an issue yet. (knock on wood.) Mostly it has been waiting for the drivers and geeting the best options from them. (When audio went from AAC to AC3.) A couple of times it had lost connectivity and I had to turn it on and off but that was quite a while ago. Right now it just works.

My RMA'd unit (D1) had a very sensitive power button, so it may've been working fine except for that. My other unit (C2) seems to be working pretty well, but I believe there's an issue with Sage and I'm working with support to try and rectify that issue.

I'm sure there are plenty of people with working HD-PVR's, but they have no need to visit the forums and report that fact.

My C2 from late July works quite well and it'll be even better once the FIOS audio problem is solved.

I don't know what the deal is with mine. It gives me all kinds of grief. I set my cable box to stereo PCM hoping that would give it some stability but it messed up on my fiance this morning.
