Random "No signal"
Generally my SageTV software and my Sage HD media extender work fine, BUT: about once every few days I turn on my TV and select my Recordings and drill down to a particular recording and click to run. Instead of seeing the recording I get a black screen and a message, "No Signal." If I then try to see live TV the same thing happens. The solution is to reboot my server computer and everything is fine for a few days.
My HP server computer is a year old and I have no other problems with it. Does anyone have a suggestion on why this problem occurs? |

What tuner(s) are you capturing with?
I ask because I had this problem with my HDHR and it was related to the PID filtering (which was fixed for me using the beta files). I also know that the powersupplies on some of the HDHR's can cause this problem when they start going bad.

Hauppauge 1600 card and HD PVR
I have a Hauppauge 1600 tuner card that records analog and a Hauppauge HD PVR that records both analog and HD shows.

Does it happen with recordings (& liveTV) captured with both the 1600 and HDPVR, or just one of the two?

It definitely happens with the Hauppauge 1600. I am not sure about the HD PVR. Unfortunately I have sent the HD PVR back for a replacement (recording from my VCR doesn't work). But once the problem occurs I can't get any recordings to play or watch TV until I reboot my computer - after which I can play anything again until the next time the problem occurs.

Are you running the latest drivers for the 1600? This thread here: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36482 seems to indicate that the 1600 might give lower signal levels than other cards, give it a read over. You might want to try out the signal strength indicator mentioned just to see if that is your problem.
If new drivers don't help (or you are already running the latest) and signal strength is consistently high with the hauppauge signal strength indicator, I would open a support ticket with Sage. edit: just reread your last post, I would suggest going the support ticket route seeing as it affects all recordings once it happens.
