Importing existing .tp files into SageTV

Is there a way to import (maybe thats the wrong term) existing .tp files (from BTV) into the STV Recording menu so they can be watched just like STV recorded them? They don't show up in the Video's folder, I figured that is where they would be. Also what about burned DVD .m4v files?

I guess we can't get there from here. Bummer. That's the last thing keeping me from ordering two copies of STV.

Missed your post before. Not the best way to bump a thread by the way.... I understand the frustration, but cmon.

All you have to do is add ts, tp, and/or trp to your library import extentions in the properties file.

  1. Shut down SageTV (and SageTV Service if running as service)
  2. Open up SageTV/SageTV/Sage.properties file in notepad or wordpad
  3. Search for
    Code:
    seeker/video_library_import_filename_extensions=
  4. You'll see a list of file types after that = sign. Add
    Code:
    .tp,
    to that list of extensions
  5. Sage the properties file
  6. Restart SageTV and try to import again.
Let me know if it works - it should, but I like to get feedback

Good luck.

Thanks, .ts appears to be there by default. I need .tp I will give that a whirl after this next record finishes. So will it be in the Videos or the Sage Recordings? I am guessing its in the videos'. I saw some info on moving from one machine to another, but that seems to hindge on already having the files listed in the wiz file. Is there any other way to import files in that wiz file so they show up in the recorded shows?

Adding .tp files to the end of that string doesn't appear to make a difference. :-(
