Problem resolving a conflict

I looked in the FAQs but couldn't find this.

I have a conflict between "The Backyardigans" a favorite, and "NBA BAsketball", a manual recording. In the conflict resolution options area of Sage I am given two choices (1) Ignore this conflict and (2) Cancel manula recording of basketball.

Am I missing something here?

Shouldn't there be a "cancel this recording of Backyardigans" as an option? I can cancel the whole favorite but that is overkill.

Can you not give a manual recording precedence over a favorite?

Manual Recordings always have priority over Favorites or any other type of recording.

The conflict resolution options you see are your choices for this situation:

1) Cancel the MR. This solves the conflict by recording the Fav instead.

2) Ignore the conflict. This solves the conflict by keeping the schedule as-is: record the MR and skip the Fav. The conflict still exists because the Fav will not get recorded, but it should be resolved now because you said to ignore it.

Thanks Andy - I didn't quite understand what ignore would do - it still showed the Green checkmark on The Backyardigans in the Conflict Resolution Screen so I thought it would still record this show.

The shows with the conflict icons are the ones that won't be recorded. The top of the Recording Conflicts menu says "The following shows will not be recorded." Also see pages 72-73 in the v6.4 PDF manual.

Why on earth would you want to cancel the recording of Backyardigans? That is, unless it conflicted with Wonderpets, then I can see why you might want to. But that scenario should never happen!

Hard to believe I know! The sad thing is that I have spent thousands of $$$ on this technology and 95% of the content recorded is Backyardigans, WonderPets, Dora, Diego, etc. I spend all of my time playing around with the system so that I have no time to use it. And my daughter doesn't understand the concept that XXX is not on right now - daddy has many GBs on the server so it is always on when I want!
