Confused

Here is my problam

I am running HD PVR streaming to a HD100 to a HD tv.

My computer has 2 PVR 150 cards installed.

HDPVR is tuning my Cable box using Hauppauge IR Blaster.

I am running the latest ver of SAGE.

My HDPVR is being used to tune the entire range of my STB 200-800
It works great with the HD tv set through the HD100 extender.

Now comes the problem, I am trying to watch SD TV on another TV through an MVP extender.

on the same network and server. The SD channels on my STB still comming through the HD PVR streaming to the MVP The audio and video are very choppy. I have tried all the codacs in Sage with no help. Below ch 99 everything is fine because I am using the internal PVR 150. Is the HP PVR not able to stream to the MVP correctly and if so what is the workaround.

My computer is AMD 64 X2 4600
2GB Ram

Any help

Thanks

Ed

I didn't think the MVP could even view output from the HD-PVR.

You must be right I just re read the specs. on both. It must be using one of the PVR 150 installed.

That being the case how do I solve the problem.

Do I have to use two STB's one for HD and one for SD and can SAGE support 2 IR Blasters on for each tuner

Thanks.

The MVP can try and use the HD PVR, however doing so requires the server to transcode the H.264 video frm the HD PVR into MPEG-2, and I don't think there's a CPU yet that can do that.

If this is the case
I tried setting up a second STB with a blaster and PVR 150 to use for SD.

Another problem SAGE gets confused with 2 blasters one on HDPVR and one on PVR 150. Is there any way to have SAGE control 2 blasters to control the correct STB.

Now it seems to default to the HD PVR blaster which give me the same problem as I started with.

Not sure, I've never tried to use the Hauppauge blasters.

As the SageTV manual notes: you cannot use multiple Hauppauge IR blasters. The Hauppauge software doesn't allow it.

Look into using a USB-UIRT or something like firewire or serial channel changing.

Well I installed the USB uirt and it solved my problem.

I did notice that I can stream HD video from the HD PVR to the MVP to the SD TV. It is choppy audio and video but not too bad.

Where is the decodeing being done I tried changing the decoders in SAGE with little or no change.
Thanks

Ed
