Here it is...
I did make a few customizations that you may or may not want to change back. Just moved some of the buttons around a bit and added some VLC support. I took another one I found on the forums here and customized it.

I had to go back to the original .ini The one jriskin posted had my remote doing wierd things with my OS. The original .ini file sorta half-butted works but I need to dig some more to get all the buttons to work correctly. If I figure it out I'll post the .ini file.

You have problems with the one(s) from the FAQ I posted above? Those have worked for people for years.

I'm getting ready to try the ones you, Opus, linked to but my current .ini file is the one that was installed when I installed SageTV.
The .ini at the bottom ofthis post for the new remote is working ... so far. Thanks Opus, love your cats!

Already made a back-up. I had to reinstall the Hauppauge IR software each time I updated the HD PVR drivers because the drivers wouldn't install unless I ran the hwclear program which wipes away everything Hauppauge. I'm just glad the remote works, it never worked as well as it does now.

My remote does not work with the HD-PVR drivers. I tried them twice. once in beta and once with the released version. I have tried using the program that removes all Hauppauge software and then reinstalled all the drivers. in IR tools and used 3-4 different versions of irremote.ini.
Everything works like expected as long as I am using the drivers that came with the HD-PVR. I have not found a method to allow the remote to work under any of the new drivers. |

Before you installed the new drivers did you run hwclear to delete the old drivers? I had to do that because the HD PVR wouldn't work at all if I tried to install the drivers over top the old. When you do that you have to reinstall the IR remote software and that overwrites the .ini file that works well with Sage. Once Andy pointed that out to me (Thanks, Andy!) I overwrote that .ini file with the one in my link and everything works great.

Same problem here
With the new drivers I have the same issue. Remote works until sage starts then nothing. Restart IR, nothing. Reboot the machine and works again until sage starts. Very frustrating and I've reinstalled everything trying to get somewhere with this. If i use the drivers that came with the pvr all works fine except spdif...

Hi all-
I'm having similar issues with a new install of XP Pro x64 and HD-PVR. My original setup was XP Home 32, USB-UIRT, and the Gyration MCE remote. That was working well until the Gyration decided to quit on me for some reason. I took the opportunity to upgrade to XP x64 (wanted to take advantage of the 64-bit processor I just bought and wanted a clean install anyway) and found out that I may have caused some new issues. I installed the Vista drivers for the USB-UIRT because they have support for the 64 bit architecture. I've tried every variation of irremote.ini file I can find in these forums, to no avail. Here's where I am: USB-UIRT with Vista drivers for x64 support doesn't seem to work at all, not even when changing channels using the mouse. Hauppauge 45 button remote won't work at all, not even to send commands to debug.txt Gyration remote is out of commission, waiting to hear back from tech support about an RMA. I just want to watch TV! What are my options? Do I have to roll back to XP 32? Even if I do that, will this remote work with the HD-PVR and USB-UIRT setup I have? Thanks, Jason

Bumping this back up, also an update:
Got the USB-UIRT working (drivers for 64 bit windows are here for future readers). Got an RMA for the Gyration remote and am sending it back tomorrow. That leaves me able to change channels through Sage but still without a working remote. When I press buttons on the Hauppauge remote, the USB-UIRT flashes red but nothing happens in Sage or to the Cable box. I also don't get anything in debug.txt. I'm using the basic_irremote-ini_New_Remote.zip file from Andy's post linked above. I have the HD PVR working perfectly on a fresh install with the 1.1 drivers (no need to run HWClear because the drivers worked the first time). Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Jason

I as well have been having an odd behavior of my remote. I have two HVR-1600's and one HD-PVR. Before installing the HD-PVR the remote sensor in the first 1600 worked. I installed the HD-PVR, then the active sensor was the one on the HD-PVR, only if the inputs are all component+LR RCA jacks. The other day I received my toslink cable from monoprice, so I installed it, and changed my input to Component+SPDIF, in this fashion, not one remote sensor works, and my system is a bit unstable.
This is with the 1.1 drivers off the Hauppauge site. So for now I am using 2ch AC3 audio. All seems well. I wonder if there is a correlation here. Of course if I install a MCE remote sensor, then that remote will work, but I really do not want to change my Harmony remote setup just at yet. |

Hmmm, I'm also using the SPDIF, so maybe that's part of the problem. It sounds like this is somehow hardware-related to the HD-PVR. Anyone figured out a workaround for this?

If your using the USB-UIRT then testing the remote using the debug.txt will not work. You do not need the Hap. IR software running at all. After you install the USB-UIRT you need to setup SageTV to use it. Did you do this? You need to go into the detailed setup and under the remote section (sorry I am not looking at my Sage so I don't know exactly where it is) but you select USB-UIRT for remote selection. After that in the same area is two options. One of them is to map buttons to Sage commands. The other is to tell you what commands are mapped to an IR code. You can use the second one to test. Fire it up and push some buttons on the remote. You should see some IR commands coming into Sage. If you do then you can map the commands in Sage to the remote with the other option. Also, the Hap. remote toggles. I.E. every button sends two codes so you need to map both codes to each command.
