Minimum bandwidth for SageMC and Placeshifter?

I spent this weekend installing SageMC 6.37a. Then I installed CenterSage and AMG. It is really quite impressive!

On my work computer with Placeshifter, SageMC is pretty snappy although the animations from button to button are a little slow. All in all, it's fine.

However at home, on my laptops (one with 802.11b the other 802.11g) with 7mbps connection, SageMC with animation is problematic. It can be really slow, freeze up and some instances crash SageTV service (particularly 802.11b).

All the computers have a processor of 2.4ghz up to 2.8 duo core, and from 1 gig to 4 gigs. I dont think it is computer problem, I get the impression it is more along the lines of bandwidth.

Has anyone else made this observation?

I have no idea what kind of bandwidth is required, but I just wanted to mention that you can disable all animations in:

Settings >> SageMC >> Global UI Options >> Animation

Aloha,
Mike

I did disable animation but then that made the main page of CenterSage difficult to follow cuz the icons just seemd to magically appear at the focal point.

If there were some way of maintaining the animation on the main page all the while disabling it on buttons, I would be a happy camper.
