Hi, i'm really confused about your software. Visiting your main page doesn't help there seems to be different versions or editions of your software for different uses but that is not clearly explained anywhere.
I only realised that there are different versions when I tried to download the trial version of the software. For example, on your features list you say "Detailed Features of SageTV Media Center and SageTVClient Software:". Well, what's the difference between them if both the client and media center share the same features? Could someone please explain to me what the difference is between SageTV Client SageTV Server SageTV MediaCenter and any other "hidden" edition ;-) Thanks in advance |

Sage TV client is just that. It's the front end interface with none of the back end recording stuff. It's designed to let you use Sage from another PC on the same network.
So the computer in your den may do all the recording and store all your files but another computer in the house can access and play the same files by running the client software. You need one license for each client. Server and media center are bundled and essentially the same software(unless you mean the Windows Home Server version, which is the same as media center just packaged to run on WHS). The server/media center is the main software. It performs the scheduling, recording, organization, and playback of all your media. The software has two parts, the media center interface you use to control everything and playback all your files, and the process that schedules and records all the programs. The process can be run without the interface for those machines where you don't want or don't need the interface starting automatically with the computer (a server, or general purpose PC). Bottom line: if you're just starting out you want the media center software.
