capture card not recognized

I have an hp computer that came with vista home premium and I've "downgraded" to Win XP Pro.

All my devices in Device manager seem ok, no exclamations etc. but the video capture/tuner card is undetected by sage.

More detail than you can possibly want is listed below, the capture card is
ViXS PureTV-U 48B0 (NTSC/ATSC Combo).

I bought two of the same machine, left the other one running vista home premium and the card appears to be supported by Windows Media Center

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Howie

The card is NOT listed as being supported by SageTV.

Vixs card

I recently built a new PVR using the ViXS PureTV-U 48B8 card and I would recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing one that even at $20 it's not worth it. It took hours to find the correct winxp drivers and get them installed. I can now record ATSC signals but when I try to record on the analog channel (its a combo card with one HD and one analog) I get the following message:

"There was a problem setting up software audio compression"

I"m pretty sure this card has hardware encoding for the audio but the computer does not seem to think so. If anyone knows how to solve this issue please help, otherwise I would recommend sticking to Hauppauge cards.

I have a ViXS PureTV capture card (not sure if it's the exact same model, but it came in a slimline HP purchased a year and a half ago). It's been a great capture card for Sage for about a year now. However, I was running with the Vista Home Premium that came with the PC, not XP.

So while it may not be supported by SageTV, that's not the same thing as saying it won't work with SageTV.
