HD-PVR working - 2 issues remain
On my server and on my PC Clients (haven't checked Mac yet) recordings from the HD-PVR are working. There remain two issues:
On client PC I cannot watch live TV unless I manually record the show and then watch the recording about 3 seconds after it starts. 480i recordings have very poor contrast. I have read about people locking the output resolution of the STB but I am pretty sure my Comcast Motorola 5100 cable box doesn't let me do that. Thats it for now, any suggestions for fixing these two issues would be welcomed. |

Can't help you with the 480i settings, but you can set the video buffer for the HDPVR to say 4000 which is in milliseconds, this will allow you to watch live tv (its an issue with the HDPVR / Sage as there is a problem with trying to watch live tv and there is a switch in resolution). Ths will of course lead to slower channel changes (since 4 seconds needs to pass), but at least it is usable.

Something like this in your properties:
videoframe/local_encoding_to_playback_delay=2000 videoframe/time_behind_live_to_disable_fast_forward=6000 videoframe/time_behind_live_to_disable_skip_forward=4000
