Hehe....yeah, fair enough.

I guess the problem is when the output of the calculator is accepted without question, even when the result makes absolutely no sense or isn't physically possible.

Sorry about dragging this thread off topic.

Aloha,
Mike

Life was sure interesting when the battery in my calculator was dying and I kept getting some odd answers. Luckily, being a math major, it dawned on me that there was a slight problem when I tested 2+2 and got something like 1e14. Now, using pencil & paper, I can prove to the math-naive that 1=2, but that's a different story.

Well there's something else we have in common.

I double majored in Math and Applied Physics when I was an undergrad.

Aloha,
Mike

I majored in Math & Computer Science, and considered going to grad schoool for Physics, but changed my mind for some reason.

And...

Oh well. I figured a topic about Picture in Picture (or, PiP) wouldn't have a problem with Topic in Topic (or, oh, never mind; that wasn't where I was heading when I started out).

Andy, If you're going to talk about Topic in Topic you need two threads since Topic in Topic always comes in pairs.

This is a standard feature of the SA8300HD that my cable company rents/sells.

Almost all decent TVs have some sort of a PIP so it is too bad that SageTV does not support this. Those who see no need for it are not sports fans - timeshifting sports makes less sense then almost any other type of show, especially if you want to watch multiple football games on a Sunday afternoon of for the first round of NHL playoffs when there are 4 games on at once.

Another use - let your child watch (Dora, Diego, Thomas, whatever) on one half of the screen while daddy watches the hockey game on the other half.

Its just that a GUESS.. 90% of what I do in front of the TV is usually "LIVE" TV viewing or watching the show that I recorded recently.... Yes, I have an unRaid server with just over 6tb of movies and music that are avail at the click of the remote (or mouse if I have a mouse hooked up).........

Amen.. It would be AWESOME if Sage did something like what DTV does on its MIX channels (donno if they still exist), they were mutiple channels based on genre (Kids, Sports, News, ect) that had 6 simultanious channels 3x2.. The highlighted channel was the channel you got sound for. When click on box, it changed to that channel

I was just thinking the other day that it would be cool if I could have the NFL games all playing at once and see my fantasy football web page update in realtime.

or even better:
Have all of the NFL games playing at once and in each picture, have an overlay of who I have playing in that game and their stats/fancy points, which, of coarse, would update in realtime.
(Players I have starting could be in red, and players on my bench could be in green or grey.)

or more simple:
have 1 NFL game playing and have an overlay of who I have playing in that game and their stats/fancy points, which, of coarse, update in realtime.

Back to reality....
