Audio Lags Video

I have a newly set up HTPC consisting of:

MSI 945 Neo5-F Mobo
Intel E5200 Processor
Asus EAH3450 Radeon Video Card
Onboard Audio

Samsung 57" 720P DLP
Pinnacle HD Pro USB stick (800e)

I have regular analog cable running through the Pinnacle stick.

After setting SageTV up, the audio on the live tuner and recordings lags the video by 1/4-1/2 second. I have tried using the Audio delay setting, but it seems to be only for systems where the video lags the sound, not vice versa.

I tried setting the audio delay to a negative number, but that kills the sound all together.

Any ideas? Could it be the motherboard's on-board sound? Should I slap an aftermarket soundcard in (I have a creative labs Audigy PCI card laying around) and see if that helps?

Try AC3Filter and set the delay to 300 to 500. which would be 1/3 to 1/2 seconds.
