While I havn't read the fine print, most of us never hide it from our installers. Infact we usually have our dish boxes installed next to our servers. I told my installer right then and there what I was doing. He thought it was cool and a little crazy and also referred to it as his "easiest install ever"....

Dish won't care. The only hassle you might have is if you want to trade in your DVR box for something else. I don't know what their trade in policy is. But at least you are trading in a more expensive box in for a couple of less expensive boxes. So hopefully they would be willing to work with you.
