Channel changing problem through TVGuide?

I am setting up sagetv. I connected dish receiver to HTPC via s-video cable, enabled all the channels I am getting during the setup of video source. I see the TV guide for all the channels selected, but when i go and say watch channel, it always to one default channel.

How do i tell sagetv to go to appropriate channel based on the channel i am in (In the tv guide)?

I have set hauppauge IR Blaster fine.

HVR-1600, Vista Ultimate, sage tv(latest version.. 6.4.x, i guess), DishNetwork 311 receiver. Thanks

Edit: the quality is okay now, but still i am not able to get the picture on full screen. i see less than 5% black screen on both left and right. If i change it to use co-axial cable, does the quality remains same or degrade?

The IR Blaster has an emitter that needs to face the front of you STB (Set Top Box) so it can set the channel as your IR Remote Control would.

What tests have you done to see if this is working?

Please remind us what Video Card you're using, what's your display, and what cable type is driving it (HDMI, DVI, Component...)

Using Coaxial Cable from your STB to the HTPC Hauppauge HVR-1600 Tuner will give you worse results.

There is an option to set the overscan settings within Sage. Try playing with those. That is the best way to get rid of the black edges.....you might also want to make sure you did the intial setup right (where it tells you to set your screen corners)...

As far as changing the channel, what method are you using? Hauppauge IR Blaster? USB-UIRT?....I use a USB-UIRT to change the channels on my 3 dish network receivers....
