Sage Mac Client plays sound but no video...

Hi,

I have a fairly successful sage install consisting of sage server running on WinXp box, 3 HD-100s, and 1 windows client. My son has an old G4 emac in his room, and I would like to run the Sage Mac client on it. Right now I am running the trial version just to see if it works. I get the sound ok, but the picture just shows a sort of green flashing screen. On the windows versions, there is a place to set the video decoder, but I do not see that option on the mac version. Am I missing something simple? Also, I tried loading various codec packs, I loaded VLC, and one of the "everything codec" pack, and it seems to play back avi/xvid files fine in quicktime and vlc player, but will not play video in Sage.

Hi merneric,

I doubt this is helpful, but I thought I'd share my info and one suggestion. I'm using a G4 mac mini PPC. I didn't have any trouble with sound or video, but I had some trouble with the menus. My trouble was resolved by installing the latest beta client for the Mac. Perhaps you could try that if you haven't already. Alternatively, if you have tried the latest beta, perhaps the latest official release would work better.

I tried the latest beta version and sure enough that took care of the problem...

I guess I will have to go ahead and buy the client license now.

Great to hear you got it sorted out.

I was kind of in the same boat. I too was testing the client when I had trouble. The beta resolved it and then I bought it. I have been very happy with it since then. Hope you are too.
