choppy video playback during timeshifting...
Hi, I have been running SageTV with HD Media extender since March. I use an HD Homerun dual tuner to record content. Everything works great except I have trouble timeshifting. By timeshifting, I mean when trying to watch content (either from the computer Sage is installed on or on my TV through the extender) while the stream is still recording. When I do this, I usually end up with video and audio that is intermittantly "choppy" or it stutters, or it pauses continually with the little circle icon. This has not been such a big deal, but now I am trying to timeshift the Olympics which broadcasts in 4-8 hour chunks so I would have to wait until after midnight to watch the evening's primetime broadcast. I see in the detailed Sage settings under cusomize there is an option where "enable MPEG4 Timeshifting says it requires a hardware encoder" On my setup, this is enabled. I am using Vista Ultimate PC that is very loaded with ample resources (fast processor, 4GB DDR2, fast SATA2 over PCIe, premium Vid Card, etc, etc.
I did a little searching here, but didn't find anything specifically addressing this. Anyone else face this issue or have any suggestions for me?
