Unable to Play Kodak Z1285 Video on HD100

With the 7-30 firmware I am not able to play the 720P videos from my Kodak Z1285 camera; the 7-10 firmware worked great. No other issues other than that so far.

I have 2 extenders and have only upgraded one. Is there anyway to downgrade the 7-30 firmware to 7-10?

Wayne

Make sure you file a bug report too.

See above & below this post for that info.

Thanks. I already submitted a bug report. I also retrieved the 7-10 firmware version, loaded it and it works just fine. I noticed that the recovery method is MUCH faster than the normal update method. Are there any downsides to using this method on regular updates?

Thanks again Andy.

I updated to Beta firmware version "20080804 0" and the issue is resolved.

Thanks again Sage!

Update: Broken

I think I am losing it. I was using the 8/04 firmware and I know my Kodak videos were playing just fine. I upgraded to the 8/12 version and the audio was really choppy. So I rolled it back to the 8/04 version. Still no good. Then I went back to the 7/10 version. No sound at all. No matter what I do it doesn't seem to work. Does it make any difference which version of SageTV I am running on the Server? Should I go back a couple of version?

Thanks.

Set this in your Sage.properties file:

force_full_content_reindex=true

That's fixed the problem for most people who still can't get these types of files to play on the extender. (you may need to wait a few minutes for it to do the full reindex) And use the 6.4.8 server and the latest beta firmware for the extender.

I had tried all but waiting for the reindexing to complete. Still no luck. I had an image that I rolled back to from about a week ago with 6.4.5 and I loaded the 8/04/08 firmware. That definitely fixed the problem. Then I went back to the 8/12 firmware. Still no problem. Then I upgraded to 6.4.8 on the server and the audio problem came back. I also noticed the picture was much better. The audio is not only choppy, but it sounds like it is running at about double speed In fact, all of the audio may be there, but it is played in about 1 second bursts at double speed. I will file a bug report.

I too am noticing this issue with .mov files recorded using a KODAK HD camera. The video plays, but the audio is choppy, and even higher pitched. Sounds like munchkins! Did you ever hear back with a fix for this?

THanks.

The last I heard they seemed to think it would be a quick fix. I guess I need to resubmit a trouble ticket.

Maybe this thread should be moved to the Extender area on the forums?

Yeah, it probably should. If I remember correctly, they were working on a beta of the firmware at the time I submitted this. I sent them another e-mail this evening to see if they are still working on it or if I should submit a new trouble ticket.

I just got this from support

"This has been fixed for the HD200. We'll also be doing a firmware update for
the HD100 soon that incorporates that fix as well."

The HD200 is very tempting. I think I will wait to see how they are in the hands of the SageTV users. Which means I will probably be waiting for the second shipment.

Fixed!

The latest firmware fixes this problem! Of course, the night before it was released I had guests and we watched the videos without sound.

Many thanks to the team at SageTV.
