Re-installing Sage on a clean box
My friend recently downgraded his Vista box to XP and he copied over all the sage files(so he states), but he had to re-configure everything in sage. Tuners, favorites, etc. Is this normal? Is there an easy way to migrate to a new OS or just format current hard drive and re-install OS without needing to re-setup everything in Sage? My understanding was everything is in the properties files.

You can copy wiz.bin to a new system & that will keep your Favorites, viewing hostory, recordings, etc. But, the properties files should not be copied to a new system -- do a full reconfiguration of a all tuners on the new system instead.
If he copied wiz.bin from Vista, it is possible that he copied the rong one: the real one may be in the VirtualStore instead of the SageTV directory. - Andy
