Sleeping Cablebox

Hi,
I have a cable box which goes to sleep after 8 hrs of inactivity. I have a 250 capture card with the IRBlaster to control the stb. I've found that if my stb is sleeping, I can wake it instantly, by transmitting the enter or ok from the original remote.

Sage seem to have a perfect solution. The GUI has a entry for channel change prefix code and confirm codes. I seen this and I said "Great!". My intent was to ad a prefix code of 'ok' and see if that solved my problem. Well when I select this menu item or any other in the GUI for IR control - I have no options.

I'm guessing this is because I'm using the IRBlaster. Anyone solve this iisue any other way? I've read that IRBlaster uses StubDevice.ir - any hints if I can accomplish this through this file?

Thanks,
Stan

Not sure about whether the IRBlaster for your card supports those features of sage, but I know the USB-UIRT works great with it.

As antoher option, have you checked to see if your STB has an option to disable the sleep?

Sleeping STB issue...

Thanks for the reply...

No sleep disable...

I figured USB-UIRT would fix the issue, but I am attempting not to spend hardware dollars now.
