I can't get smooth video either. Here's my breakdown:

ArcSoft - stutterring video.
ffdshow - black screen.
Cyberlink - black screen.
CoreAVC Pro 1.7.0.0 - stuttering video; after a few minutes, the video freezes altogether. It's continuing to record, but the playback is frozen.

I'm also using Sage Beta 6.4.5.

I just submitted a bug report I suggest you guys do the same to resolve this. I will update if I can get this fixed. It was working fine in 6.4.4 though.

*Update* Support sent me this and it works for me. Ill post the file if anybody wants it.

Can you try replacing the MpegDeMux.ax file in your SageTV\Common folder w/ the attached one and then see if the problem still occurs in 6.4.5? (backup the file you have first before replacing it)

The file I'm sending you is from V6.4.4 for that component (and it's most likely where the issue is, and this test will confirm that)

Thanks,

Thanks for the heads up, but that file doesn't do anything for me, unfortunately.

I still have extreme stuttering and choppiness. I also noticed that for whatever reason, CNN-HD causes the video (and audio) to freeze up entirely. The first couple of times it did this within seconds, later on it played (still choppy) and when I experimented a few times with skipping backwards, pausing, and playing - it froze up then.

On a seperate note, when checking the debug log to make sure it's loading the right filters, I see that it's loading the "ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD" in addition to what I've set for "videoframe/aac_audio_decoder_filter". Is it supposed to do that? How can I troubleshoot whether the audio decoder is contributing to this if I can't get it to stop using ArcSoft?
