cpu

what is the min. cpu i should use in my setup to have sage tv run good. I'm using amd board. then what is the recomended above that speed.

What do you want to do with it? Recording programs does not require much of a CPU, but playback can (especially if you are using a software player). If your current CPU can play a DVD without any problems then it will be good enough for SageTV. The tuner cards (such as the PVR-250) do the MPEG encoding in hardware so the CPU just needs to transfer the data over the PCI bus to the hard drive.

Any Athlon XP should be able to run Sage just fine.

I want to use it to play recorded show also i might want to play dvd and maybe even add hdtv tuner to it. will I still be set with any athlon xp

The CPU that I have in my playback machine is a 1 GHz C3 processor and it can playback without any problems. Any CPU you can currently buy will be fine.
