SageTV Service using almost all CPU resources

Hi All,

I have had SageTV with HD extender working fine for a while...topday i wanted to put my cable box on S-video of one of the PVR500 capture cards.

At the same time i also finally hooked up my USBUIRT to control it.

Since then SageTV runnign as a client on server machine has been incredibly slow and when checking task manager SageTVservice is continously using 95-99 percent of the CPU power. I have no idea what it is doing..

I have an older DUAL AMD MP2000 machine with 1GB RAM.

The USBUIRT seems to be ok, i installed eventghost and am abel to have to receive and transmit IR just fine.

I have rebooted the computer...no change...

What is causing this craziness? It is making sage unusable..

ok...troubleshooting has begun...

I found 2 interesting things...out of the 2 tuners it appears you can select svideo as input to either tuner...i would have thought svideo1 woudl be dedicated to capture card 1 and svideo 2 to capture card 2.

Whenever i select svideo as source for either capture card the resource use immediatly goes to max and Sage becomes unworkable..when you after much waiting can finally select a different source the resource use stays high.

On top of that if you manage to close the SageTV Client the resource usage stays high. I have to kill the service and restart it, the the usage is normal again untill i go back in to set svideo as a input.

Coudl this be a transcoding issue? This PC must be more than powerfull enough...i can watch coax source fullscreen or window mode and the CPU doesnt break a sweat...

This really has my puzzled..

UPDATE:
OK..i can select and preview Svideo as source just fine, then i go the the 'tuning option' screen where i select 'use external tuner', then the next screen is to select tuner control, as soon as i select USBUIRT everything grinds to a near halt and sageservice goes to max resource usage..

Guess it has something to do with USBUIRT....

Suggestions anybody??
