Exclamation SYBA USB to Serial Adapters losing connection

I have two SYBA USB to Serial Adapters that are used for controlling my DTV receivers. They have worked well now for several years until recently. I have one on COM3 and one on COM6. The one on COM6 just disappears from Device Manager completely. I simply unplug and replug and it shows back up again and works for several weeks. I always know when it breaks as the channels wont change. Anyone else had this issue? It's def a windows issue, and not a Sage issue. I have another 2 spare SYBA adapters and have tried different ones with the same result. So apparently it is a software issue with Windows. (Shocker!) Any help is appreciated!

A little more info

Ok, I have noticed a pattern to this now. Whenever I schedule something to be recorded COM5 goes out and Sage is unable to control the receiver again until I pull and reset the USB adapter. Here is what I see in the logs: (Just looks like Sage doesn't see COM5, and it likely should not as it disappears from Device Manager in Windows XP)

I am thinking maybe java or Sage is causing an exception that is not logged that is causing the USB/Serial adapter to get dropped from Windows.

I am seeing the following java errors logged: (Not sure what they mean though)

Sun 7/27 18:03:16.132 Exception in the MiniUIClientReceiver of: java.io.EOFException
Sun 7/27 18:03:16.132 Error with MiniPlayer, closing UI: java.io.EOFException

Any ideas??? Thanks!
