Interesting Problem with HVR-1600
Ok! So i was having a problem adding the Analog tuner to the sources on Sage. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything and it worked. I does a channel scan and picks up all the channels, but now, when I try to watch it it gives me an error code that says it is having a hard time setting up hardware compression check my drivers. (-6,0x80004002) I have used the newest drivers and everything. Any ideas?

Have you installed any other video or audio programs, codecs or drivers? Could be that something has installed a codec/driver with higher merrits, or...

I have already reinstalled several times to no avail. Is there some way to switch sage to software compression?

1. Run the Hauppauge CLEAR program. 2. Download the latest HVR-1600 drivers from Hauppauge 3. Try running the Hauppauge WinTV application and see if it gives you a similar error. 4. Try moving or swapping the card into another PCI slot. 5. Other PCI cards may be in conflict, you might try removing non-essential cards and testing. 6. Removing the HVR-1600 and letting it sit for 1/2 hour and try again. This may clear an odd state the card is trapped in. You could also have a 'bad' card. If it doesn't work with the viewing software that came with it then this is probably the case. [EDIT] Search Google and found this SageTV thread with several posts mentioning the HVR-1600 and enabling Software/Hardware encoder. Since these posts were 16-months ago you will need to ask SageTV Support if this is still necessary. HVR-1600 does not show up as two tuners [Thread] contains posts by SHS discussing HVR-1600 Software Encoder http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...9&postcount=10 |
