Messed up fast forward settings

Hi,

I somehow messed up my settings for fast forward/backward. It now skips an amount of time. What do I have to set to recover this function?

There are commands for smooth FF/REW and skipp Fwd/Bkwd. Maybe the FF/REW buttons on your remote are assigned to the set that you don't want. If so, just reassign the buttons in Detailed Setup -> Commands.

thanks for your reply! I never fooled around with the command mappings. I found out that ff/fr works fine on DVD playback and older recordings. I recently changed to the H.264 DVBDream network encoder. Is it possible that it produces recordings that might cause problems with fast forward on the MVP?

Smooth FF/REW cannot be used on the MVP when the video has to be transcoded, so it falls back to Skip Fwd/Back instead of doing nothing.

Oh, I use this network encoder only for mpeg2 SD channels. Does this network encoder somehow tell SageTV to transcode the recordings for the MVP by default? Can I disable that somehow?

I thought you said they were H.264 format? That would have to be transcoded for the MVP.

Now I use the DVBDream Network Encoder by MFury. With that, the FF/FR works as expected.
