Help with PVR-250 and PVR-350

I have 3 tuner cards in my new HTPC. I have a PVR-350 that was in my old machine, a PVR-250 that sat in the box for a few years, and a 1800.

With all 3 cards in the machine, it seems that Sage does not see the PVR-350 as an input, but it knows the card is there because I get the 'Enable 350 TV out' options in setup along with the options to use the hw decoder on it.

When I go into the Source setup, it only shows the 250 and the two inputs for the 1800.

I've checked in the device manager (running Win XP Pro) and verified that all the cards are listed there. I've also installed the latest drivers for all the cards.

The only thing I can think of is the similarity of the device name according to windows. Both cards are reported as the same name in device manager, with the only difference being the information in parens after the card (250 has encoder after it, 350 has decoder and encoder after it).

Is there something I'm overlooking here?

Check the mmc/ignore_encoders line in sage.properties. If the 350 is listed there, remove the line while SageTV is not running.

That was it. Why would it put that in there to ignore the 2nd card?

Ok.. perhaps I spoke too soon.

Removing it from the 'ignore' line let it show up as an available source. When I attach the coax input to it and start to add the source, the initial preview screen is snow. If I go past that screen and ask it to scan for channels, it proceeds to scan for channels and claims that it found them as they scroll by, but the preview window remains black.

After adding about 60 channels, I get a windows message that SageTV encountered an error and needs to close. If I click 'dont send', SageTV exits immediately. If I wait, it appears to finish the channel scan, then hangs with a spinning circle until I click 'dont send' on the windows message.

Maybe there's a problem with the card itself, or with playback. Does the 350 work when using the Hauppauge software? Or, do the other cards work for recording & do their recordings play OK?

The 350 was used in my old HTPC and worked just fine there as the sole recorder for the last few years. It was still working fine when I took my old box down and removed the 350 to install in the new box.

I don't generally use WinTV. I'll install it and see how it works as a test though.
