LCD monitor as a TV with HD extender?
Has anyone tried to use an LCD monitor with speakers as a television in conjunction with the HD extender? I haven't compared LCD TV's vs monitors, so I don't know if there is a significant quality, brightness or audio difference, but the thought has crossed my mind. With the HD Extender, I could save money on not buying a tuner in the screen.
There are a couple 22-25" monitors with built-in speakers & HDMI that may fit the bill, but I don't know if they are viewable from a distance of 10' or so. This would be for a bedroom "TV". Even if I didn't use an extender, most cable and satellite companies make you use a STB, so an integrated tuner is a waste. Anyone done this before?

I've got a 17 inch monitor but the speakers are horrible on it. The 22-25 inch might be better but if you check here you'll see the recommended size is 30 inches and up.
