Dual Montor Setup Woes
Basic question yet the answer is eluding me!
Want: Monitor One: small monitor, primary, for Windows (task bar here) Monitor Two: TV for displaying SageTV (whole program: menus, video, etc) It should just be a matter of opening Sage in windowed mode, dragging Sage to monitor two, opening full screen. Close down Sage and Windows is supposed to remember what monitor Sage was last shown on and open Sage on that same monitor. But it's not. Sage ALWAYS wants to open on monitor one. A long time ago nVidia had a utility that if you were setup with dual monitors you could right click on the window's task bar handle and a context-sensitive menu opens and a menu item was "send to monitor 2". A lot of driver versions later I no longer see that option. Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1, nVidia 175 WHQL for an 8600GTS. Any ideas? Thanks. AWS

Is there a way to have the Sage screen on BOTH monitors (different resolutions)?
I guess I could use the webserver on the little display for control or placeshifter... but that would take up my extender license... hmmm. |

If you want to have the menu on one screen and the picture in the second, I think you can do so by switching to overlay rendering in SageTV, and then setting the primary monitor as the picture monitor, set overlay to full screen in your video card properties, and move the menu screen to the secondary monitor.

Both monitors & different resolutions
If you want to get Sage running on both monitors at different resolutions, the only solution I found that worked was running Sage client (or placeshifter) on one monitor, and running the server on the second. It worked for what I was doing (which was a touchscreen & a TV). Here's a link to the thread where I asked the same question:

Fixed
What I had to do was exit the SageTV service, exit SageTV. Keep the SageTV service OFF, launch SageTV, make SageTV windowed so I could drag and drop it onto monitor #2, full screen SageTV then exit. Re-enable the SageTV service and relaunch SageTV.
Now when the SageTV opens it shows the splash screen on monitor #1, but the actual program is all shown on monitor #2.
