Pcalchemy has them in stock $89.95 http://www.pcalchemy.com/product_inf...cardstv-tuners. The license is $24.95 more, so the total is a few bucks more but may be worth it not to wait.

FYI, a lot of people have had trouble with the wireless MVP's. The combo of a wired MVP and a wireless ethernet bridge seems to be a much more robust solution. I went this route and it has been rock solid. The only drawback is that it ends up being a bit more expensive. Just figured I'd mention it.

Aloha,
Mike

They have the wireless ones in stock for $119.95. http://www.pcalchemy.com/product_inf...cardstv-tuners

I can't find the wireless one in the sage store. The wired one ($109.95) is the only one I see and it is out of stock.

The wireless one can be used as a wired device.

Hows the setup on these? I figured since you were buying it from sagetv there was some preinstallation stuff done, Is it just a standard mediamvp that you have to configure regardless if you buy it from sagetv or not? Granted if you buy it through sagetv you get the license combo but is that all there is?

No advantage to buying it from sage, other than the inclusion of a license. The device is that same as you'd get anywhere else.

Nothing needs to be installed. Just the first time configuration on the MVP. Use of the Hauppauge software is only used for testing purposes but should be disabled to work with sage.

Does sagetv not sell the wireless model anymore? If not why? I assume the regular 109.95 price is only for the wired mediamvp.

I also have another question, I wasn't ever planning to use placeshifter or at least not any time soon. If I buy the sagetv bundle (99.95 with the placeshifter license) can I use that license if I buy a mediamvp from another vendor?

You probably have to send E-mail to orders@sagetv.com to find out for sure. It is confusing because they have pictures of the wireless MVP on two pages including their home page. They could have removed the wireless one because it is out of stock or they could have discontinued them because of support issues. My wireless MVP has always worked fine in wireless mode.

The MVP and extender licenses are the same and can be used in a interchangable manner. but there is another bundle with the MVP license for the same $99.95. You might want to compare that price with PCalchemy. PCalchemy sells the licenses at a discount.

Now there's a good friend.

Not that he called you an idiot...but that he informed you of the wiser decision of just getting the HD100.
