The web pages are written in XHTML Mobile. Most HTML browsers should be able to handle them. After googling for a few minutes, it seems that her phone is capable of browsing them.
Check the sagetv_0.txt log file and see if Jetty printed any errors. You can also add the line DEBUG=true to JettyStarter.properties and restart SageTV. Then try accessing it from your wife's phone and see if the logs have any more information. It wouldn't hurt to clear the browser's cache either.

I think it might be useful to list out the phones/devices folks have used this SageTV mobile web app on successfully. I'll add that to the bottom of the instructions as a reference.
I've tested on a Blackberry Curve 8830 and my wife's Blackberry 8700. Others I'm seeing as working (seen on this thread): Motorola Razr PPC-6700 running WM6.0 Samsung A737 ppc 6800 Mogul on Sprint WM6.1 Last edited by Brent; 06-17-2008 at 08:20 AM. |

ppc 6800 Mogul on Sprint WM6.1, both via wifi and evdo
saw it working one time on LG lx260 on sprint, still a WIP For those that are using dyndns (thanks for that tip by the way!), what extra security precatuions have you taken now that you have a port open? Or is that not something to be concerned about?

If we're speaking about dyn-dns tips.. If you have your own domain, consider using dns-exit for free DNS. They support dyn dns and I use it for a few different locations.

There are some new wiki pages on the SagePlugins wiki. They provide some information about the Mobile Web Interface and the Jetty plugin and well as instructions for installing and upgrading the plugins. These include all the information Brent compiled in post #39 and will now be the place to look for the most current information. Thanks for putting together that post for everyone, Brent. You (or anyone else) can feel free to add to the wiki.
And to give you an update on development: I've been working on favorites, conflicts, and a few other small things (encoder name on upcoming recordings comes to mind) since the last update. Hopefully it won't be too long before I'm able to post another update but don't waste the rest of the weekend waiting for it.

I'm in for beer money too. Will there be any way to search listings at some point?

That will probably be one of the next things I work on after the current stuff is wrapped up.

Has anyone gotten this to work with Safari? I'm trying with my daughters iTouch and getting a "safari can't open page because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server"

I use: http://addressHere:port#/sage/m/home.jsp and it works either with an internal address or remotely with a DynDNS set address. It behaves identically on an iPhone and the iPod. If you capitalize "Sage" or "Home" you will get a 404 error. Lynn |

Are you trying to use SSL? The default certificate that ships with Jetty expired long ago. Some browsers don't like expired certificates at all. You should create your own anyway. Certificates for nielm's webserver should work if it's set up right.
I haven't had a chance to put an article on the wiki yet, but there are a few pages on the Jetty website that explain how to do it [1][2][3]. I'll tweak the wiki page toward the SageTV audience, for instance you need to disable the default jetty.configfiles setting in JettyStarter.properties and enable the other one that has jetty.xml and jetty-ssl.xml. If someone else beats me to it, more power to them!

If you don't need to specifically do this through a web-browser, their are plenty of mobile VNC applications that will allow you to manage anything on your server/workstation, including Sage, if you just run a VNC server like RealVNC or TightVNC.
I've been controlling my machine for years using my Windows Mobile phone. Here's a link for non-Windows based phones that can handle Java Midlets. http://www.freeutils.net/vnc2go/ |

A new download of SageWebApp.zip is available in post #6 of this thread. It requires version 1.2 of the Jetty plugin (same as the last update). Changes include:

I've been playing around with the new version. So far it looks good - no bugs that I've found. Working well. |

jreichen: I'm using the latest release. Are the icons on the main menu page supposed to appear on a line separate from the text? The icons on my page are showing up on one line above the text line that it corresponds to.
