Music visualization causing Extender lock-up?
Though I have had my Sage setup working since March, I have not used the Music capabilities much until recently. Over the weekend, we had a cookout, and for the first time, I tried using a SageTV playlist for some “background music” at the party, through my TV on the HD Extender (I was also admittedly “showing off” the SageTV for the visitors). I set my playlist on “shuffle” and turned on the visualization (default with the album art and song info moving around the screen).
After about 20 minutes, the Extender locked up – the music completely stopped and nothing would respond. It was a complete lock-up, requiring a hard reboot. I checked the server, and Sage was running fine there, so it was obviously the Extender. After rebooting, I started it again. About 20 minutes later (admittedly, not really checking the time), the same thing happened. I rebooted again, and this time I checked the time when I started it. After exactly 20 minutes, it locked up again.
After rebooting, I took off the visualization, and just left the playlist screen on. It played fine from that point, for several hours (thankfully, I have an LCD television and don’t have to worry about burn-in). So apparently it had something to do with the visualization.
Anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts?
