Online Services in SageMC

So the online services for me in SageMC are completely hosed running the 6.4.2 beta release of Sage. Only google and youtube still work.

Anyone know if 6.4.2 introduced changes to the way online feeds work?

Yes, the link property file layout was redone for v6.4.2 -- there's info for custom feeds in the beta forum.

Unfortunately, this breaks SageMC's current online video system, since it is based on the old style from the default STV. For now, you could use the old property files -- if no one uploads them, I'll look for copies later this evening. (Do you have a backup copy of the SageTV installation from before installing this beta?)

In the long run, maybe SageMC should use differently named online video properties files so that changing the layout in the default STV doesn't break SageMC. That section of the UI is hard to keep up with because we keep tweaking the online video system & it takes a while to get all those changes moved to another STV, though the new STVi generation system might help with that for future changes.

I've attached the online video properties files from SageTV v6.3.10 -- you should be able to save the ones you currently have in the STVs\SageTV3\OnlineVideos directory, then rename these to take their place.

These older files should also still work in the default STV, though a couple link updates since v6.3.10 would be missing.

Beta 6.4.4 SageMC-No online videos?

After installing beta 6.4.4 and then importing SageMC, I discovered that all the online video links were missing, only the category names still exist. Also, when searching on google or Youtube, I am presented with video choices but when I try to watch them it says that there was an error downloading to c:\mydocuments...

Was I supposed to do something to obtain online video links in SageMC?

Has anyone else on Beta 6.4.4 experienced this or am I the only one? I see all the new online video links fine with the default stv but when I load SageMC, I lose them all. I think I'll load the first SageMC to make sure this isn't being caused by another STVi.

You're not the only one. Only YouTube videos work in SageMC on 6.4 - should be added to the "to-be-fixed" list for the SageMC worker bees....

I merged your question w/an old one on the same topic -- see the older info above.

Question Sagetv mc

I have been using sagetv but upgraded to sageMC using Brent Evans excellent guide. No being a programer, I have hit on a problem. The MC is fantastic but I have lost all of my online videos except utube and google. All the others (HD videos, News etc) say no videos found when I try to load them. Any ideas?

Some of Online Content broken with latest betas

Posted here as the betas dont break it in the stock UI, but with SageMC, the ONLY online options that arent broke are YouTube and Google, the others offer 1 empty block each.

Sorry Andy.

Online Videos Missing After 6.4 Upgrade

This is probably a simple one but I'm a little lost on how to troubleshoot it.

After upgrading to 6.4 from 6.3.10, SOME of the online videos are missing.

The categories exist (youtube, google video, science/tech). But nothing shows up when I click on Science / Tech, Home and Garden, etc.

What's strange though is that youtube and google video are fine. It's just the other categories.

Any ideas on how to tackle this one?

Are you using the default STV (SageTV3.xml) or are you using the SageMC? SageMC needs to be updated for the latest online videos.

Copy over the online video properties files from SageTV v6.3.10 and all the original online videos will be restored but none of the ones added since 6.4.2. It's a band-aid until SageMC is updated to version 6.4 which we hope is being planned.

Online Services

Only YouTube and Google Video have any content in Online Services. When I select News in SageMC I see an empty green box. News has lots of content in the default STV. I'm using the latest version of SageTV and SageMC. How do I fix this?

You need to wait until the next update to SageMC comes out. SageMC doesn't always take advanatge of the latest SageTV version until the authors bring it up to date. I heard speak of it being out in the next week or two.

Just use the replacement file Opus posted until the full "fix" is out.

Only YouTube and Google Videos work under SageMC

Only YouTube and Google Video seem to work. The catagories: News, Comedy, Sports, Science-Tech, Entertainment, HD Videos, etc stopped working.

I'm using the latest official release of SageTV and SageMC. Did I miss an update for sageMC?

No you didn't miss an update for SageMC. But there is a workaround (see post #3 above in the thread you were just merged into)

WIth the 6.3.10 fix I get the old online videos back but I still get a video not found error when searching google or youtube. I didn't get this error with the default STV.
