Dual Tuner, different channels?

Hey,

I'm going to be setting up SageTV soon, and my first Tuner will most likely be a VisionTek 650 USB tuner, or the Diamond equivilant. This will just be used for SD, and I don't think I'll have any major issues with getting everything to work.

But, I have ordered an Hauppauge HD PVR. So obviously I'm going to want to use that in SageTV as well. So my question is, will I be able to run both tuners at the sametime, and what, if any, will the issues be?

Now I know that more then one tuner is possible in SageTV, but the HD PVR and my SD tuners will not be picking up all of the same channels because obviously the SD tuner won't be getting the HD channels. So how will the work within SageTV?

Having never used Sage yet (probably will start within a week) I'm not sure how everything will work. Is there away to manually choose which tuner I'm watching/recording? Or will there be a conflict because the channels don't all match up?

Thanks for your help!

Dave.

Provided all the tuners are supported for use in SageTV, then they should all be usable by SageTV unless they have conflicts with each other at the system level.

And, there's a way to remap channels so the same lineup doesn't conflict on two different tuners. I wouldn't worry about the details of that, though, until you actually have the HD PVR and the latest version of SageTV when that tuner arrives.
