Dlink EBR-2310 not passing sage data.
Does anyone else have problems with Sage running on a network with a Dlink EBR-2310?
My old Dlink DI604 was dying (DHCP server stopped getting an address from the modem) and I purchased a Dlink EBR-2310. Shut everything down, installed it, followed setup instructions. Browsing the web fine. Turned on the other computers and they could browse the web.
Was able to log into shared folders on the server and upload/download files. Discovered SageClient wouldn't connect to server. Tried to VNC into server to reboot. RealVNC wouldn't connect.
Hmm, started to get worried. After many permutations of reboots, checking router configs, I determined that even though the server and the client could browse the web and transfer files between each other, they would not pass sage or VNC traffic. I could VNC out the network to my servers at work, but I couldn't connect to the one in the next room at home.
Borrowed a Linksys wrt54gl router, shut all machines down, powered everything up and now sage, VNC into my sage server and the internet are working properly again. I can now watch TV on my Sage client again. I'm going to return the Dlink and get a linksys.
I also didn't like the fact that the Dlink took 2-3 min to "determine network speed" after every reboot. The linksys only took 30 sec for the router to be working after a reboot.
