Channel Logo's

No a big deal here, but how do you get the channel logo's to appear with the TVGuide? The screenshot in the beta homepage shows the channel logo's, all I have is text.
Am loving the V2 so far on my PII 450!
Thanks

Create a folder in your SageTV directory called ChannelLogos and put the relevant images in there. They have to be named the same as the call sign for the channel.

We are not able to distribute the logos but I'm sure somebody here will point you in the right direction

There was a thread on where to look for them but I got a lot of mine from http://www.satlogo.com/

Some that were not listed I got them from the broadcaster’s website or I searched Goggle for different things until I found them.

I also use satlogo.com, and here is another one that is very concise for the US cable/sat market:

What's the next step? What image type should the images have? How does one associate a particular image with the channel?

Would it be possible for someone to zip all the logos into a file and post it here? I think it would help a lot of people out (including me) and make it rather easy to add the logos to Sage.

Thanks,

Thanks,
There would be a few copyright issues with someone doing that. The person who would be gathering, and distributing, the images would not be their copyright holder.

Even so if you do some searching(nonbeta thread) there are some people who posted groups. I'm fairly sure I remember at least two, but definitely one.

Yes, I just did a search and found them here:
http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthr...=Channel+logos

I didn't realize they had been posted before. Sorry, I didn't do a search before posting.

Thanks,

Exact format / size details, please?

I'm starting to build some of the logos for my local station, but notice two things:
a) The image is centered left/right and top/bottom.
b) It takes the image top-left corner color and uses it as the background color to fill the empty space left by the image.

It's the way I'd do it. Easy to program, and (generally) looks nice. However, some of the channel logos I've used have colors going from light to dark (left to right) and look awkward when surrounded by the backgrounbd color.

I have two questions in helping me build "perfect" channel logos:
1) What is the exact pixel width and height shown in the display (including the rounded corners; not an issue)? Am I right that these are static, regardless of screen size?
2) What file formats are allowed (i.e. .jpg, .gif, .bmp, etc.)?

Anything else worth knowing before I put in this effort? Will post my logos when done, if of use to anyone. Also, if either assumption a/b is wrong, that'd help too. Thanks!

The ones I downloaded from one of the links were all jpegs of 132 x 99. The ones I had to find from various places on the Interent are all gifs with the following resolutions: 80 x 38, 79 x 32, 72 x 80, 90 x 102, 165 x 80, and 106 x 88. Sage scales them all fine. I can't tell any difference in the Live TV guide.
