SMB paths

17. Added support for specifying smb:// paths for video recording directories on Mac/Linux
Does this mean that if we have a linux server and a windows client we can now play ripped DVD's from the server?

I just heard that DVDs will be handled this way in the next version.

I have a slightly different question:

I am using windows on the sage server and a mac client. I am currently using \\server\path as my recording directory. This works great on my windows placeshifters, but doesn't allow the mac client to see the edl files.

I assume I need to change this to smb://server/path to allow the mac to see the edl files.

My question is what happens to the previously recorded shows. Is there a way to change the path in the database to the new format?

Thanks
Greg

I think I was mistaken.

The line item reads:
Quote:

I just noticed this is only supported on Mac and Linux. WHY???? I think I need this supported on windows so that my windows server can put the smb path into the database so my mac client can read it and use it.

I see that photos can be loaded using smb paths on all platforms, why can't recordings???

Greg
